November 29, 2008, Orlando Philharmonic's "Home For the Holidays" Concert
Annie returned to her former hometown of Orlando, Florida as the featured artist on the Orlando Philharmonic's "Home For the Holidays" concerts. She performed five Christmas pieces as well as one of her own original songs, "A Place Called Home". Annie's husband, Greg, did all of her orchestra arrangements and accompanied her on piano.
Mark Fischer, General Manager of the Philharmonic, wrote to Annie a week later, stating, "All of the comments from patrons are glowing of last Saturday. Best to you guys! It was a treat to see and hear you again! You are the most talented couple to ever leave Orlando."
Larry Butler – Grammy award-winning Producer of the Year with 75 Gold and Platinum Record Awards, Inductee in the Country Music Hall of Fame:
"I'm amazed at the work that you did. It's fabulous. You're head and shoulders above the rest...Incredible!"
Gene Pitney – Inductee in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame:
"It is really more difficult than anyone would think to come up with the right performer to open my shows on a concert tour. Annie Sims was one of the best! She sang great, looked great, and had her own musicians who it turned out were excellent! Many long time fans sent me messages that said she was great and they looked forward to seeing her touring on her own in the future."
Ben Fowler – Grammy award-winning Engineer for Eric Clapton, Michael Peterson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and many others:
"Your CD is going in my stack of favorite albums and that's not a large stack. You and Greg should be very proud."
Brent Lovelady – Nashville songwriter:
"Your voice is one in a million. The gift to touch something deep in the soul of a man or a woman with music is rare. You have done your job and bless you for touching me and making me feel. Your album will be part of my favorite music from now on."
Rhonda Day – Walt Disney World Show Producer:
"I LOVE the CD! Annie, your vocals sound fabulous and I adore the arrangements. It's hard to pick favorites because they all came out great. "
Michael Hurley – Lone Pine Recording Studios, Orlando, FL:
Re: Annie Sims releases new single
"...This is truly a great song, with a heartfelt reading by Annie. She is a gem; her singing is as warm, honest and up-front as she is as a person. All she needs to do is keep on with what she’s doing."
Neale Donald Walsch – New York Times best-selling author of Conversations With God:
"Country song stylist Annie Sims has also recorded some very special music, including at least two songs inspired directly by her experience of Conversations With God. The achingly beautiful "Go Within," from her album Half the Moon, is a deeply moving example. "
Beth Johnson – author of First You Sigh, published by Millennia Books :
"I loved your CD. It has many more hours ahead with me in my life. It has a feel to it that soothes the soul. It says, 'Let those who wish, come to the well and drink.' That is the way it feels. Like a doorway that has been placed before you and the choice is yours. Turn from the daily da da and allow your self to let go..."
